Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She's now a Romanian/German actress. Her most famous films are Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz early. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. The role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, from Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historic war film) was both critically and commercially acclaimed. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is well-known for her involvement in many notable projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. A few of them include the British biographical documentary Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
